Even if Minnesota lawmakers do not get a budget completed by next weeks deadline, couples will still be getting married.

Governer Tim Pawlenty even personally called one bride to be to assure her that a looming state government shutdown would not disrupt her wedding planned for July 2nd.

"The Governor apologized for my trouble", said Hallie Shultz of Maple Grove. Hallie and her prospective hubby James Douglas wer anxious because their wedding falls 1 day after the state government is planning on going into shutdown mode - which would close many non-essential state facilities.

Pawlenty learned about the couple's wedding situation from a newscast and asked aides to work out a solution.

Brian McClung, Pawlenty's spokesman said that approximately six weddings were scheduled at the Fort Snelling Wedding Chapel and others at several state parks will continue as planned - shutdown or not.
