A man who didn't show up for his wedding returned home Wednesday, after spending the past month walking the along the beach and sleeping in boxes and under bridges, his fiance said.
Kenneth Edward Souza, 51, had vanished April 3, the day he was supposed to marry Annette Loguercio before 50 guests and a rabbi.
On Wednesday, Loguercio told KNBC-TV, "He just came home, knocked on the door.
I opened the door and there he was.
... I just grabbed him and gave him a big hug and told him I loved him."
Souza, who was wearing the same clothes he wore when he left, then walked upstairs at the condominium the couple share, and took a shower.
Loguercio, 57, said her fiance had lost about 40 pounds from spending recent weeks "walking up and down the beach from Redondo Beach to Marina del Rey."
After Souza left last month, a bloody rag was found in the groom's van and three knives were found in the couple's shower, but police said there was no crime.
"We would like to know if he was possibly suicidal because of the knives and blood found in the bathroom, but he committed no violation of the law," said police Sgt.
"It's not against the law to fall off the face of the earth.
Souza, who set the April 3 wedding date, proposed to Loguercio in December 2003, four years after the couple met at a dance studio in Bellflower.
The night before the wedding, Souza canceled his bachelor's party and disappeared for several hours.
He apparently went for a swim in the pool at his old residence and came home wet.
About 13 years ago, Souza disappeared for 10 days during a financial crisis.
Loguercio said she hasn't given up hopes of a wedding.
"It's probably a subject we're not going to broach for quite a while," she told KNBC.
We're just going to figure out how to fix it."

What the heck is wrong with these people. Just dont accept the proposal and/or dont ask to marry someone if your not going to.
