Forget about Adam Sandler. A new version of The Wedding Singer has hit broadway. The new musical is almost ready for it's big day. Based on the movie of the same name, the storyline is about a down-on-his-luck wedding singer in suburban New Jersey circa 1985 (this time being played by Stephen Lynch). His close friend (now played by Laura Benanti) is engaged to the wrong guy.
Insiders say that the new musical, directed by John Rando and choreographed by Rob ashford blows the film away. They hosted an "engagement party" on January 6 where they met and performed for the press. The musical is scheduled to be released on March 30 at the Al Hirschfeld theater.
