A wedding cake is always a precious commodity, but few travel as far as this four-tier pink and white creation.
Packaged as hand luggage and stowed in an overhead locker, the cake went from Australia all the way to the UK, where it won the world's top title for cake decoration.
Mrs Medway, of Wisemans Ferry, won the masters' wedding cake class of the British Sugar Craft competition. Held every four years, the contest is the Oscars of cake decoration. There were 800 entries in total.
The cake took five weeks to complete!
The cake actually made it back to Sydney where it was on display at the Bridal Expo in Darling Harbour.
The judges take every element into account, from the design to its impact, colour and the technical expertise. This cake was so detailed, the filigree itself was the result of an entire week's labor.
Nobody will actually eat the cake, unfortunately. It was made of polystyrene in order to make it travel well.
