Dear Wedding Dress Designers -
Stop freaking us out! It takes every bride way too long to realize that wedding dress sizes do not match up with the sizes of regular dresses. I don't know what it is in the fashion industry that decides what size a garment is, but whatever the criteria is right now, it should change for wedding gowns.
If there is going to be a discrepancy, it should be the other way around. If I wear a size 8 dress normally, I want my wedding gown to be a size 6, not a size 12!

This dress cost me $1200 that my drunken sot of an ex-father-in-law swore up and down he would pay for but didn’t so I got stuck with the bill.

But what about Momzilla? An article at pittsburghlive.com reminded me of this not-as-rare-as-it-should-be creature.
Quoting the article:
There's the mother-in-law who not-so-nonchalantly suggests she join the honeymoon soiree. The mother-in-law who leaves diet recipes laying around the kitchen so "you can fit in your wedding dress." The mother-in-law who refuses to take down prom pictures and vacation photos with your fiance's ex-girlfriend in them.
