indianchild.com has an interesting blurb about informal wedding dresses. It says that you should not only think about fashion, but also the theme of your wedding and time of day. It gives a few suggestions about style as well.
Searching for "Informal Wedding Dresses" inevitably brings up all kinds of junk. Sites advertise on the search term, but the advertisements don't direct you to pages where they actually have informal wedding dresses!
The thing is, that informal wedding dresses are just normal dresses that people are getting married in. Obviously, if you are thinking about this kind of wedding-ware you aren't looking into having a train and pretty much all other requirements are up in the air.
There are a lot of pages to shop around that specialize in wedding dresses, but if you aren't tied into a particular style, you might be better suited to go around to various department stores and prom shops - where the typical client is not spending thousands of dollars.
The label isn't what makes it a wedding dress, you do.
Think about what your requirements are and go shopping around. Like the link says, think about the theme of the wedding, where you are getting married, and the time of day. You want something that will be looked upon fondly for the rest of your life, so make sure you are happy with it, don't settle because you are having a hard time finding that perfect dress. Your wedding pictures will be looked at by your children and family for years to come.
