Robin Gibson's wedding dress may be white, but the dress boasts small touches of red and blue stars across the bodice and along the hemline of the skirt.
Her husband to be is a member of Bravo Company, 1/16th Cavalry Regiment.
The groom, Ron, told Robin that he'd always dreamed of having his bride wear a patriotic dress. Robin's appreciation for the military was instrumental in coming to the decision that she would make the dream come true.
They selected Ellen Hack of Laurene's Bridal and Formals along with Betty Henderson, seamstress, to put together the wedding dress.
"We considered embroidery stars," Hack said. But Henderson said the pair couldn't find any.
"We thought about iron-on, but we didn't want it to look cheap," Henderson said.
Then the two women found metal stars and tiny white pearls.
"I bought the paint and the bride painted them," Hack said.
The task of painting 1000 stars red and blue was time consuming , but the results are amazing.
