A new style is about to hit the scene - known affectionately as Sexy Frump. Susie Gerrety and Jane Semple - a pair of Melbourne, Australia natives. They were inspired to create the style while developing a wedding gown for one of their own ceremonies.
The style is just unique and catchy enough to have won them startup funding from "Out with demon" - an annual competition for young startup fashion businesses.
"We are not interested in making clothes that require you to discipline your body at the gym, we like making clothes that are flattering to all figures," Gerraty says.
They have already developed a strong following among small boutique owners.
The style essentially consists of brightly colored prints and liberty fabrics. The garments (not just wedding gowns) are designed to be "a well-cut garment made for a grown woman's body." Hopefully alleviating the pre-wedding stress which only gets worse with crash dieting.
