I've been working on a glossary program for this wedding dress site, and before I release everything (it could be a week or more), I thought I would share a few wedding dress terms that might help you out.

Princess Gown: Clean Angular Lines with a soft form. A subdued variation of the "Ball Gown" featuring a slightly tapered waist that gives way to an "A shaped" skirt.

Ball Gown: A wedding dress featuring a full skirt springing from a fitted waist. This is considered a romantic gown - and if you are having trouble picturing it, think Cinderella.

Empire Gown: A high waisted dress featuring a straight column or A-line skirt flowing from just below the bustline.

Sheath: A straight, modern style coming in a little at the waist before dropping to the floor in a clean, single column.

Slip Dress: A simple spaghetti strapped dress with a low neckline and unembellished fabric. Quiet and Elegant.
