The Language of Flowers

The time has come to start making decisions about your weddding flower arrangements. You may want to incorporate those flowers that have a special traditional meaning. At the turn of the 20th century, the most common way to communicate romance was with flowers. A young man would present a red rose symbolizing love to a young lady. She would return a purple pansy, relaying the message "you are in my thoughts." No words were spoken that would commit either party during the courtship, so understanding the language of flowers was of paramount importance if one was to ever cultivate a relationship. Price Gouging

A friend of mine was in a floral shop when a woman driving an expensive car pulled up. Immediately, she could hear the employees chatting in the back about how they were going to have to triple the prices to meet her need. Were they joking? Maybe on the triple, but you can bet the florist increased the price on the arrangements to more than what the average person would pay. Oddly enough, if you think about it, it may be the only way the florist may have gotten the deal, since so many people equate quality with price. So dress down, park around the corner if you have a really nice car, and even lie about what you or your fiancee does or that your parents can't afford much.
