Stumped for a wedding gift for the groom. Perhaps a watch is the answer. A Rolex is the time honored status symbol for men, but with prices in the tens of thousands of dollars it is the definition of an unnecessary luxury item. If you can afford one, a new Rolex is certainly an option, but if you are looking for something a little bit less expensive, your options are plentiful. One option that people don't think of very often is an vintage rolex watch. Prices for these beautiful works of art can range from just a couple of hundred dollars to... well, the sky is still the limit.

Other brand names are just as recognizable, harbor nearly the same status, and can be had in price ranges from just a couple of hundred dollars to several thousand. Reverso is a high end brand with a unique twist - the watches themselves offer two faces - ideal for road warriors who often travel between different time zones - not all of the Reverso's are capable of handling separate time zones, many of the thinner watches have a reversable face, but only maintain one time between the two faces.

Tissot is a swiss brand which offers the best value. They are the lowest priced watches offering crystal faces. Crystal is very resistant to scratching, even under the toughest of conditions. Their designs are timeless as well. Less expensive, high fashion watches can be had from fossil, although they are much more common than other brands and offer less "status". Standard brands like timex are less desirable in general, although most brands have updated their style catalogs to include some beautiful time pieces.
