No Gifts at Prince Charles' Wedding

Interesting bit of news. The wedding of Prince Charles and soon to be Princess Camilla is to be without gifts. They have asked there 800 guests to not bring gifts, and have also banned cell phones and cameras - which are not allowed in the Royal Residence in the first place.
Apparently, this is not an altogether altruistic gesture.
Princess Diana and Charles ended up burning or giving away nearly 6000 gifts after their wedding. The ban on Wedding Gifts is said to be an effort to avoid further bad publicity. The revelation regarding the burning/giving away of wedding presents was recently uncovered by british news media.
The question in my mind is still... how do you ban cell phones and cameras in a residence? Maybe we can learn some of these tactics and have them implemented by our local restaurants!
