Melvin and Caren Hilman say the Famous Plaza Hotel in New York City booked their daughter's wedding for July even though they had planned on being closed for renovations — a fraudulent move that cost the parents an extra $90,000 and caused them "severe emotional distress."
The Plaza is quoted as seeking a "reasonable settlement".
They have moved there wedding to The Pierre - a much more expensive hotel. The wedding at The Pierre is costing them about $160,000!
