Most places that marry people will allow you to say your own vows. But did you know that they could also stop you from saying what you already prepared...on the day of the ceremony?!?
With the exception of Vegas weddings, you should always run your written vows by the organization that is marrying the two of you. In some cases, it is possible that you will not be allowed to say certain things and asked to omit a phrase or rewrite it. This happening on the day of the ceremony could drive a grown man to tears. Especially, given that the groom takes about 10 times as long as a the bride to write them. Seriously though, the stories of this happening are mostly horrible because people grow, understandably, attached to what they wrote. And then to have someone tell them they can't say it, exactly as they envisioned it...you may as well tell a bride she can't wear the dress her mother wore at her wedding.
