According to the India Times, the UK has sent police officials to India to help curb Marriages of Convenience. There is a growing trend of these marriages taking place in order to gain Visa's.

Wedding of the Century

Prince Charles' original wedding to Diana was dubbed the Wedding of the Century. You had to be on another planet 23 years ago to not know about it. The event was as grandiose as it gets. In contrast, Prince Charles' wedding to Camilla is going to be a relatively low key event.

And the winner of the Top TV Wedding is...

The marriage of Scott and Charlene in Neighbours has been voted the best TV wedding of all time - according to inthenews.co.uk. Two american shows made the top 10 list - Ross and Emily on Friends and Prince Michael and Amanda from Dynasty. Note that Emily was actually a Londoner on the show - so maybe that's why they made the list :) I never watched Dynasty, so no details available on that wedding. The full top 10 list follows.

Beckham Lookalikes tie the knot

A couple who are professional David and Victoria Beckham (Soccer Star and former Spice Girl) lookalikes have been married themselves.

The wedding was a low key affair to avoid the kind of things that could happen if they were mistaken for the actual stars. It was originally scheduled for Sri Lanka, but was moved to Cuba following the tsunami.

Mom wins Dream Wedding

Vancouver Manoeuvre Bags Dream Wedding (from This Is Local London)

A 24 year old mother of 2 won a dream wedding by hitchhiking, talking an airline into a free plane ride, hopping on a ferry, and (gulp), heading home with a stranger.

The wedding itself includes the dress, flowers, the ceremony, and according to the article, a car (which I assume is british for a limousine).

No Nepotism

The Queen of England is doing the unthinkable. Actually, she's not doing much and that's the news. She's resisting political pressure to push through emergency legislation that would clear the way for Prince Charles' wedding.

The Royal Family faces the prospect of a High Court challenge to prevent Charles marrying Camilla Parker Bowles in a register office that would delay the wedding.
