Searching the web for information about weddings leads to a sometimes humorous road.
For instance, at this web site the question is asked :
Q What are my daughter’s chances of marriage according to Chinese astrology? When is it likely to happen? Her date of birth is 17.01.81 at 9 am. I cannot activate the southwest side of her bedroom as the doorway is there. What else can we do?
I don't know what "activating the southwest side" of a bedroom will do for a girl, but something tells me that maybe Mom is getting a little too involved.
Also in the news, it seems that the parents of Karen Elson who recently married Jack White of White Stripes had no idea their daughter was even dating the rock star.
Arab News is reporting that grooms are complaining about the rising cost of wedding halls in the summer time and that wedding hall owners are rasing prices because (you better sit down for this...) demand for their product is high.
The Minnesota Star Tribune (The Strib to you locals) is reporting that New York's mayor will be walking his daughter down the aisle and performing the ceremony. (ever since Jesse Ventura left town, news on Minnesota politicians has been scarce)
And finally, the Pittsburgh Post Gazzette has a report showing that more and more brides are picking up wedding insurance - to save them from those unforeseeable pitfalls like when the bridal shop goes out of business before delivering the dress. With most weddings costing as much (or more than) a new car, it's not such a bad idea.
