In 1965, Marion Catherall and Brian Roberts were married. They did not know the importance then, but another couple - Barbara Speed and John Harrison were getting married only 10 miles away. The couples did not know each other then, but 25 years later, they finally came to meet.
They both had decided on a holiday in Nice for their 25th anniversaries. Still they managed to avoid eachother.
A few years later their children began dating and eventually married. It wasn't until they selected a wedding date of October 15th, that the parents realized that all three couples were to share a wedding anniversary.
Other coincidences include that they all had their wedding photos published in the local paper - amazingly on the same page, and on the same days (although the children's photos didn't appear until 34 years after the parents). The parents also proposed to each other at the same restaurant, although this time they managed to do it on separate days - with the Roberts' becoming engaged several months before the Harrison's.
